In the Skin Cancer Foundation Journal, scientists have analyzed faces and bodies in an attempt to understand and quantify the perception of age and beauty.

So do you look older or younger than you really are?

Here are some basic ways to boost your youthfulness and beauty:

SKIN

Skin ton which is a combination of skin color and texture is a key factor.  The more even-colored and smooth-textured our skin is the younger and more attractive we appear.  Proper skin hygiene is essential to achieving and maintaining and attractive skin tone, so cleanse your skin morning and night.

Daily use of sunblock will help to stop some of the visible signs of skin aging, including wrinkles, rough patches, sagging, skin discoloration, mottling and dullness.  UV rays are responsible for more than 90% of these visible signs.

HAIR

White gray hair is a sign of aging, hair density [thickness], luminosity and luster may be even more important to our perception of age and attractiveness.  Sleek soft tresses are associated with youthfulness.

Keep your hair and scalp clean.  Protect the hair from the damaging effects of UV exposure which can break down protein.  Wear a hat.  They are in style.  Use hair care products shine such as glosses and serums.  Increase hair softness with conditioners.  Use volumizing products to achieve a thicker and fuller appearance.

Life Style

Finally remember that what hurts your health hurts your looks.  Smoking, pollution, sleep deprivation, poor nutrition, unprotected sun exposure and high stress are all damaging.  They affect the way you look and feel.  Take care of your health and spirit every day and look and feel beautiful.

That is the question. You have probably heard of BB creams and more recently, CC creams. BB stands for beauty balm and CC stands for color correction. BB and CC creams have become very popular recently. In my opinion, they are an excellent addition to your daily skin care regimen. These creams are hybrid creams. Not only do they contain a light tint to provide light to medium coverage, they also contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide to protect your skin from UV rays. In addition, they contain anti-aging ingredients like antioxidants, peptides, and moisturizers. You can even use them in combination with other anti-aging creams and serums.

Beware though, each cream has a different texture and feel. You can test different BB and CC creams out at cosmetic counters and cosmetic stores. Some creams do not contain enough sunblock to protect your skin. Remember to check labels when you are evaluating a BB/CC cream and look for zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in combination of at least 6%.

BB creams are my secret to great looking skin. They help protect, renew and even my skin tone while I'm wearing it! So, to answer the question to BB or not to BB, I say, yes to BB!
