In the Skin Cancer Foundation Journal, scientists have analyzed faces and bodies in an attempt to understand and quantify the perception of age and beauty.

So do you look older or younger than you really are?

Here are some basic ways to boost your youthfulness and beauty:

Skin ton which is a combination of skin color and texture is a key factor.  The more even-colored and smooth-textured our skin is the younger and more attractive we appear.  Proper skin hygiene is essential to achieving and maintaining and attractive skin tone, so cleanse your skin morning and night.

Daily use of sunblock will help to stop some of the visible signs of skin aging, including wrinkles, rough patches, sagging, skin discoloration, mottling and dullness.  UV rays are responsible for more than 90% of these visible signs.

White gray hair is a sign of aging, hair density [thickness], luminosity and luster may be even more important to our perception of age and attractiveness.  Sleek soft tresses are associated with youthfulness.

Keep your hair and scalp clean.  Protect the hair from the damaging effects of UV exposure which can break down protein.  Wear a hat.  They are in style.  Use hair care products shine such as glosses and serums.  Increase hair softness with conditioners.  Use volumizing products to achieve a thicker and fuller appearance.

Life Style

Finally remember that what hurts your health hurts your looks.  Smoking, pollution, sleep deprivation, poor nutrition, unprotected sun exposure and high stress are all damaging.  They affect the way you look and feel.  Take care of your health and spirit every day and look and feel beautiful.
