"PreJuvenation"

Have you ever heard this word?
Well, we all know that those of you in my age group are looking for Botox and fillers and home care products for reJuvenation.  We have an array from which to choose.  With these choices, we can individualize your treatment for the BEST YOU!

For those younger, the goal is to age gracefully.  Visible lines and draping may be a few years down the road for those in their 20's and 30's.  By examining the movement of your facial muscles, we now have the ability to preJuvenate before lines, wrinkles, creases and spots begin.

So we can reJuvenate and preJuvenate!

All of us love to look our best.  It makes us feel better.  Why not start with what others see?  When you feel better, you look better!

It is a delight for me to help you look and feel better!  Put a little "SPRING" in your step, and get an uplifted outlook for the season with a fresh reJuvenated or preJuvenated face for all to see!

The cold, dreary winter blues may be almost to an end, so with this being said it may be time for all of us to do some extra moisturizing to quench our skin's thirst, due to the havoc that these chilly temperatures have played on our skin. By moisturizing skin every day, you will look and feel younger, now who doesn't want that?!?

Here are a few tips I recommend when it comes to hydrating your skin:

1. Avoid hot showers and limit shower time, this dehydrates your skin even more, while removing oils from your skin

2. Avoid strong soaps and fragranced lotions- these also strip the natural oils from your skin

3. Pat dry after your shower or bath- this allows for some moisture to still remain on your skin

4. Apply your lotion or cream right after the shower when your skin is still damp

Follow these tips and your skin will drink it up!

Just like humans, our furry pets can get skin cancer too! It is important to protect our pets from UV rays, especially if they spend a lot of time outdoors. If your dog is like mine, he loves to bask in the rays of the sun! You apply sunscreen to yourself so, why wouldn't you want to protect your best friend also! I've done some research and found some tips that may help ful to you and your dog:

  • Always have a shady place outside where your dog can lay and escape from direct sunlight.
  • Sunscreen for pets does exist! Your dog needs sunscreen to areas that are exposed like his ears, nose, groin and belly or in any area where he may be losing hair. You can find pet specific sunscreen on the internet or you can ask your veterinarian.
  • Dog hair is protective but not if it isn't there, so don't shave your dog in the summer.
  • DON'T use zinc oxide sunscreen on your pet. It's great for humans but it can be toxic if ingested by animals!
  • If your dog is sensitive to sunscreen, you can find dog or pet specific sun protective clothing.

Horses and other animals with minimal hair are susceptible to sunburns and skin cancer as well.

Patients who have had a visit to a dermatologist for any reason are more likely to self-detect a future melanoma.  It has also been shown that these melanomas tend to be thinner and therefore have a better prognosis than melanomas developing on people who have never seen a dermatologist.

A study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology that these findings held true even if the prior visit to the dermatologist was long ago.

Education obtained at the dermatology appointment may improve early self-detection and having an established dermatologist may facilitate earlier evaluation and treatment.

What is my new love?  Skin Medica's HA5!
It smooths and hydrates skin with hyaluronic acid.  As we age we lose hyaluronic acid which leaves our skin dryer and rougher.  Hyaluronic acid is a "water-loving" substance and will instantly smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The "5" of HA5 stands for:
    1. Time release which sustains the hydration
    2. Sodium Hyaluranate for immediate hydration
    3. Uncross-Linked hyaluronic acid for smoothness and hydration
    4. Nano hyaluronic acid to soothe the skin
    5. Cross-Linked hyaluronic acid for lasting hydration for up to 8 hours

So to fight aging try my new favorite HA5 and while your friends look older you can look at them and say _
"HaHa" or HaHaHaHaHa for HA5!
